February 24, 2022:

The Worcester Center for Crafts has assessed the impact of the Inclement Weather forecasted for Friday, February, 25, 2022.  All Friday programs have been CANCELLED and the building & studios will be CLOSED.

We anticipate a return to a normal studio and program schedule starting Saturday, February 26, 2022.

Course registrants have been issued an email from the Registration Office (wccregistration@worcester.edu).

February 23, 2022:

The Worcester Center for Crafts continues to monitor the upcoming storm forecasted for Friday, February, 25, 2022.  Further assessment will be on either Thursday evening or early Friday morning regarding any potential impact of the storm on the following programs scheduled for February 25:

January 28, 2022:

The Worcester Center for Crafts has assessed the impact of the upcoming storm forecasted for late Friday, January 28 - Saturday, January 29, 2022.  The Gallery Store remains temporarily closed for construction during the month of January, and is not impacted by this storm.  The offices remain closed on weekends per usual schedule. 

 

All Friday evening programs will run as scheduled (with the only exception detailed below), and ALL programs scheduled for Saturday, January 29, 2022 have been CANCELLED and the Studios will be CLOSED.

January 17, 2022:

An assessment of the weather conditions and forecast has been made, and the Craft Center studios and programs will remain open as scheduled on Monday, January 17, 2022.  The Gallery Store remains temporarily closed for construction during the month of January and is not impacted.  The offices remain closed as scheduled in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The Worcester Center for Crafts continues to monitor the upcoming storm forecasted for Sunday, January 16 - Monday, January 17, 2022.  The Gallery Store remains temporarily closed for construction during the month of January, and is not impacted by this storm.  The offices remain scheduled to be closed in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.  Further assessment will be made on Monday morning regarding any potential impact of the storm on the following programs scheduled for January 17th:

February 19, 2021:

An assessment of the weather conditions and forecast has been made, and the Craft Center & New Street Glass building and studios will be remain open for Friday, February 19, 2021.  All programs and courses are running on schedule.

February 9, 2021:

An assessment of the weather conditions and forecast has been made, and the Craft Center & New Street Glass building and studios will be remain open for Tuesday, February 9, 2021.  All programs and courses are running on schedule.

February 2, 2021:

Due to inclement weather, the Craft Center & New Street Glass building and studios will be closed through at least the morning of Tuesday, February 2, 2021.  This closure impacts the following programs:

After assessing the weather and road conditions this afternoon, and it has been determined that all afternoon courses, private lessons, and programs will run as scheduled at the Craft Center and New Street Glass Studio.  This impacts the following programs:

Inclement Weather Policy

The Worcester Center for Crafts generally follows the Worcester State University (WSU) inclement weather policy relative to building closings and class cancellations. Delayed openings and cancellation announcements will be made on the Craft Center's Facebook page and on our website.

 

The Worcester Center for Crafts schedules make-up classes when possible for sequential classes.  Students will be contacted via email from wccregistration@worcester.edu regarding cancellations of their courses.

Evening and Weekend courses: There may be instances where the weather is expected to clear early enough in the day for an evening or weekend course to run as originally scheduled.  The offices will generally make an assessment of the weather conditions, and students will be notified by 2PM via email if a closure will continue through the evening or if the class will run as scheduled.

Online courses: It is anticipated that all courses being offered online will run as scheduled even in the event that the Worcester Center for Crafts is closed due to inclement weather.  Unless you are informed otherwise by your instructor or by the Registration Office, please assume that your class is taking place as usual.
