About the Event
An exhibition presenting weavings, baskets, bamboo crafts, sculptures and embroideries by refugee artisans collaborating with the nonprofit project RAW, Refugee Artisans of Worcester. RAW supports craft work as a vibrant means toward self-empowerment for refugees.
OPENING RECEPTION is free, open to the public, parking available and will include craft demonstrations by artisans and a 2 to 3 p.m. talk by guest curator Emerita Anthropology Professor Susan Rodgers, College of the Holy Cross, and RAW co-founders Ellen Ferrante and Joan Kariko. Rodgers and Holy Cross student docents will be happy to lead gallery tours for classes and groups during the exhibition, January 16 – February 29, 2020, Tuesdays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Please contact Prof. Rodgers at srodgers@holycross.edu to set up these free tours.
