The Craft Center offers a variety of classes designed specifically for children ages 4-17. Children and teens benefit from our low teacher to student ratios and our professionally equipped studios, while experiencing the hands-on use of materials and tools.
The Craft Center also offers adult/child classes allowing families the enjoyable experience of learning a craft together.
Youth Outreach
The Craft Center is committed to reaching out to area youth and fostering in them an appreciation of fine crafts and craftsmanship and a lifelong desire to create.
The Craft Center works with community partners to meet expressed community needs. A primary goal of our new youth initiatives has been to develop studio-based visual arts activities that enhance class curriculum. Merging professional studio artists with classroom teachers, curriculum specialists and young learners has been an important focus of the youth programs, producing exciting results for all of those involved.
Our programs offer high-quality, hands-on, educational and creative experiences for youth. All of these activities develop critical thinking and fine motor skills as well as an historical understanding of crafts and craftsmanship.
